The Security Desk For The Businesses The Industry Keeps Forgetting

Enterprise security firms quote in six figures and speak in acronyms. The little guys install a scanner and call it a day. We built Kryptelia for the wide gap in the middle — the machine shop, the clinic, the regional retailer — where one breach isn't a headline, it's an existential event.

Why we exist

It Started With A Breach That Never Should Have Happened

A Central Ohio distributor lost three days of orders to a ransomware note that came in through a forgotten admin login. Nothing exotic — no nation-state, no zero-day. Just a default password on an internet-facing box that a five-minute test would have flagged. They had assumed, reasonably, that nobody would bother with a company their size.

They were wrong, and they are not unusual. Attackers automate. They don't decide you're too small to target — they sweep every address on the internet and let the tooling sort out who left a door open. The businesses that get hit hardest are almost never the ones the news covers.

We test the way an attacker actually would — then write it up the way an owner can actually use.

Kryptelia was built to sit where a full-time security hire would, without the payroll line that makes no sense until you're much larger. You get offensive testing, a plain-language verdict, and a number to call when something feels wrong — all priced per engagement, agreed before we begin.

The standards we work by

Four Commitments That Shape Every Engagement

01

We Break In By Hand, Not By Scanner Alone

Automated tools find the obvious. Real attackers chain small weaknesses into a way in — a leaked path, a weak session, a permission that should have been revoked. Every Kryptelia engagement is driven by a person doing that same chaining, with the scanner as a starting point, never the finish line.

02

The Report Is Written To Be Read

A 200-page scanner export is a way of looking busy, not a deliverable. You get one executive summary any owner can follow and one technical appendix a developer can act on — each finding scored by exploitability and business impact, with the fix spelled out. If you can't act on it, we haven't finished.

03

The Price Is Named Before The Work Begins

Scope and cost are agreed on the scoping call and don't move unless you ask them to. No hourly meters ticking in the background, no surprise line items when the invoice lands. Security decisions are hard enough without a moving target attached to them.

04

Fixing The Holes Is The Whole Point

A finding you never close is just a worry with a page number. Within 30 days of your report we re-run the confirmed issues at no extra charge and update each status — so an engagement ends with problems closed, not a to-do list handed off and forgotten.

Who picks up the phone

You Don't Get Handed Down A Chain Of Juniors. The Person Who Scopes Your Work Runs It.

Kryptelia stays deliberately small so the tester on your scoping call is the tester on your keyboard, writing your report and running your retest. No account-management layer, no offshoring the actual work, no report you've never seen before it lands in your inbox. When a bad day comes, you're already a known voice — not a ticket number.

One tester, start to close

Scoping, exploitation, write-up and retest are the same set of hands. Nothing is lost in a handoff because there is no handoff.

Rooted in Westerville

We work with Central Ohio businesses by appointment from 86 E Lincoln St — close enough to sit across a table when a breach warrants one.

What we won't do

Sell you a dashboard to babysit, dress a scan up as a pen test, or recommend a fix we can't explain in plain English. If you don't need us yet, we'll say so.

Start with a conversation

A Ten-Minute Call Tells Us Both Whether We're A Fit

No sales script, no pressure. We ask what you run and what worries you, then tell you honestly whether a test, an audit, or nothing at all is the right move right now.
